Title: Organizational Change and Relevant Theories: a Historical Perspective

Abstract:

Organizations in various industries inevitably face changing environment, which further leads to organizational change. This talk introduces the paradigm of organizational change and its relevance to organizational learning, culture, motivation, and leadership theories. The theoretical links between these organizational behavior theories provide theoretical implications for future research on any types of change in organizations.

Brief introduction of the lecturer: 

Dr. Xianbo Zhao, associate professor and doctoral supervisor of Department of Engineering and Technology, Central Queensland University, Australia. Professor Zhao obtained his bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Engineering Management from Southeast University in 2007 and 2010 respectively, and received his doctorate from the National University of Singapore in 2014. His research fields include construction risk and safety, sustainable construction, construction organization management, etc. He has published more than 100 English journal papers, including 5 highly cited articles, citing by Google Scholar for 5479 times, with 41 H-index. He was selected into the top 2% researchers in the world list of Stanford University in both 2020 and 2021. In 2021, Professor Zhao won the awards of top researcher in the field of architecture and research star in the field of sustainable development by the annual research journal of The Australian, and he also won the President's Outstanding Research Award of the Central Queensland University. He serves as the deputy editor in chief of 2 international journals, the editorial board of 4 international journals, as well as the evaluation experts of research fund in many countries and regions.
